Chalet Arkle is a beautiful chalet based at the top of the stunning Alpine town of Saint Gervais.

The chalet was designed and built in 2006 as a family home as such it has been finished to exacting standards.

South facing this chalet is spacious with a large open plan living and dining area, warmed by an open fire. The living area opens onto a balcony where there are teak table and chairs, there is also a BBQ provided during the summer season for outside entertainment, enabling you to really make the most of the sensational views the Chalet has to offer.

There are some lovely lakes with beaches at nearby Sallanches, Les Contamines and Passy.

Golf There is an 18 hole golf course nearby at Megeve and is open to non members in the summer. (June to October)

Skiing Easy access to the ski resorts of St Gervais, Megeve, Les Contamines, Saint-Nicolas de Veroce and the Chamonix valley. The main ski area of St Gervais is vast and forms part of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski domain and its 420km of slopes. The area provides long wide intermediate and beginner runs, but also includes challenging advanced runs with excellent off-piste. Skiing on the Mont Blanc side of St Gervais is served by the tramway of Mont Blanc, a rack and pinion 1904 railway.

Chamonix is about 30 minutes by car and it is also easy to ski at Argentiere, Les Houches and other ski areas in the Chamonix valley.

Snow boarders can enjoy one of the best snow parks in the region. There are also some excellent mountain restaurants.

Walking and trekking in one of the most beautiful areas in the Alps. Cycling both road and mountain biking. Adrenalin activities (e.g. white water rafting and paragliding). It is also a very popular area for painting, both landscape and wildlife.

There are many other activities available in St Gervais all year round and in the surrounding area. You can take Europe's highest cable car to the Aiguille du Midi and once at the top you can eat in the restaurant or just take in the panoramic views. The Montenevers tram will take you to the foot of the Mer de Glace, Europe's highest living glacier. Once at the glacier you can visit the Ice Grotto carved out of the glacier.

Visit the husky centre in Chamonix and go for a sleigh ride. The Merlet Animal Farm in Les Houches includes a number of regional animals such as chamoix.

There is a good choice of bars, restaurants, creperies and several supermarkets. The local market visits every Thursday with a range of Savoyard treats.

Various festivals and concerts are held throughout the year and there is an excellent theatre and cinema. A festival of comedy is held each March. There are some very nice quality boutique shops offering gifts, clothes, furnishings and a wonderful chocolatier.

Within walking distance (15 minutes) of the picturesque town of St Gervais with all amenities. Ten minutes walk to an indoor ice skating rink which is open all year round and regularly host ice hockey matches. 10 minutes walk to heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.

Les Contamines is 10 minutes drive and offers tree top adventure park, pony trekking and lessons. The Parc Thermal in St Grevais/Le Fayet offers a range of health and beauty treatments.

Geneva Airport is 45 minutes by car (hire car on the Swiss side of the airport). Calais is approximately 8 hours drive.

Travel times to local ski areas and towns. St Gervais: 2 minutes. Le Fayet with thermal baths and spa: 5 minutes. Les Contamines: 10 minutes. Megeve: 20 minutes. Chamonix: 30 minutes.
